Oct 22, 2024
According to the latest data released by the German Federal Network Administration (Bundesnetzagentur), Germany added 960MW of solar photovoltaic capacity in September, a slight increase from 906MW in August (previously published data was 790MW, now updated), but it was also the second consecutive month in the past year that the country's monthly new installed capacity fell below 1GW. The total capacity in the first nine months of 2024 exceeded 11.37GW, higher than 10.47GW in the same period last year.
Of the new installed capacity in September, ground photovoltaic installations accounted for 412.7MW and rooftop distributed accounted for 549.8MW.
As of the end of September 2024, Germany's cumulative installed solar photovoltaic power generation capacity reached 94.29GW, onshore wind power capacity was 62.5GW, offshore wind power capacity was 9.21GW, and biomass capacity was 9.06GW.
